Local residents and other users of the area were able to get involved in the preparation of the competition documentation in several ways.

how did public engagement take place during the preparation of the competition?

The following information summarises howthe public wasable to participate inthepreparationof the competition during May.

Community Mapping Workshop

On Thursday 21 May, a public consultation session was held at Poláčkova Primary School. Local residents had the opportunity to comment on the current state of the area and its future development, and to express their needs, expectations and concerns related to its future.

Online map-based questionnaire

From 4 May to 31 May 2026, the public could complete an online map-based survey and share their views on the current condition of the area as well as the needs and priorities that the future proposal should address.

Outdoor exhibition

From 4 May to 31 May 2026, an outdoor exhibition was installed within the competition site, in the shopping arcade above Budějovická metro station. The exhibition panels provided information about the upcoming competition and the future development of the area.

Consultation group

In addition to the representatives of the main stakeholders who were directly approached, any active citizen interested in participating in the consultation on the competition documents could become a member of the consultation group. At the end of May, members of the consultation group had the opportunity to comment on the General Brief for the competition.

what did we learn?

All observations and comments were summarized in the Public Engagement Report, which can be downloaded via the link below. The report is also part of the publication “Site Information”, which participants received in the first Round of the competition. It thus became one of the reference documents for the competition teams when creating their designs.
