main competition parameters

The competition will be organised as a competition workshop, a format in which competing teams present their designs and consult with the jury throughout the competition. This allows them to respond more effectively to the brief and the needs of the site, whilst enabling the jury to monitor the development of individual designs as they progress.

The competition workshop has the following parameters:

  • the competition will be conducted in accordance with the rules of the Czech Chamber of Architects
  • the competition will be international, with both Czech and international architectural firms taking part
  • the winning design will be selected by a jury ofexpertscomposedof independent experts, representativesofthe investors, the City of Prague and thedistrictofPrague 4
  • thecompetitionwillbein twophases– in thefirstphase, 8 teamswillpresenttheirinitial design concepts; forthe second phase, the jury will provisionally select 4 teams tofurtherdeveloptheirproposals

The aim of the competition is to develop a comprehensive urban and architectural concept for the development of the area around Budějovická metro station, which will establish the optimal spatial, functional and compositional layout of the site. The concept must reflect and balance the intentions of the client, the City of Prague and thedistrictofPrague 4.

  • is collaborating on the preparation of the competition and will have a representative on the competition jury

  • is collaborating on the preparation of the competition and will have a representative on the competition jury

ONplan

  • a planning consultancy responsible for organising the competition and coordinating preparation of the brief;
